Henry David Thoreau worried that “Our houses are such unwieldy property that we are often imprisoned rather than housed by them.”  Since the end of World War II and with the advent of the Levittown Era, our homes have been built in lock step with and rigidly confined by the developmental grid. Regardless of compass direction, view shed or the potential of adjacent land use, the abode has been commonly shaped and unimaginatively placed on a coast to coast monopoly board.  With a flexible sense of place and design, Protos Studios, as did Thoreau, has learned that “...even the smallest house can be a home.”
